1980 Shasta Motorhome LP Gas System - page 2.

Power for hot water, heat, cooking and refrigeration.

- Pilot adjustment - Remove the pilot adjustment screw protective cap and turn the set screw to adjust the flame so that it is one half inch high or has a yellow tip (see diagram)

- Burner adjustment - Loosen the set screw which holds the air shutter in place (see diagram). Slide the main burner air shutter to the right until the flame has a yellow tip. Slowly slide the shutter to the left until the yellow tip disappears. Tighten the set screw.

- Extinguishing the burner - Turn the gas cock knob to "OFF."

- Draining the motorhome's water heater - Open the drain cock. When the water heater tank is empty, close the drain cock.

RV refrigerator (see diagram). - The motorhome's refrigerator draws power from either the LP gas tank, 120-volt or 12-volt electricity. The refrigerator control panel is located inside the refrigerator door. Pull the "OFF/12V/ELEC/GAS" selector outward and turn it counterclockwise to the "GAS" setting. Pull the valve button out while pushing the lighter button in. Repeat until ignition is observed through the reflector. Turn the gas thermostat to the highest number on the dial. Later adjust temperature to desired level.

RV furnace - Open the LP gas service valve all the way. To remove the front panel, press down on the silver tab and pull outward. Set wall thermostat, power switch and gas control knob to "OFF." Wait five minutes. Turn the power switch and gas control knob "ON." Move the thermostat up until the blower starts. Allow 20 seconds for the furnace to light (in cold weather this can take up to two minutes or more). When lit, replace the front panel and set the temperature to your desired level.
